Enjoy full catering with a light breakfast, lunch, and sumptuous three-course dinners. Our lodge offers a private and intimate experience, making you feel right at home. During the dry season, you can spot animals like bushbuck, warthog, and nyala roaming freely around the camp.

The lodge features four separate thatched chalets, each accommodating up to eight people. Each chalet boasts a private veranda with stunning views of the bush and a tributary of the Thangadzi River. The chalets are equipped with twin or king-size beds (depending on your needs), open-shelved storage, and en-suite bathrooms.

Relax in our impressive central communal area, which includes a dining area and lounge. To add to the splendour, this area overlooks a swimming pool and the Thangadzi Lodge waterhole.

With over 330 species on the farm and adjacent marshland, our lodge offers an unparalleled birdwatching experience. The nearby Elephant Marsh, a RAMSAR site, hosts large flocks of wetland bird species from July to December, creating an incredibly picturesque environment.

Our area is a birdwatcher’s paradise, featuring specials like the Collared Palm Thrush, Green Malkoha, White-backed Duck, Great White and Pink-backed Pelican, African Skimmer, Lesser Jacana, African Swamphen, Long-toed Lapwing, Pied Avocet, Black-crowned Night Heron, Greater Painted Snipe, Collared Pratincole, Greater and Lesser Flamingo, Marsh Harrier, Western Banded Snake Eagle, African Crowned Eagle, and Bohm’s Bee-eater.

Our luxury resort in the bush provides friendly and knowledgeable guiding. We offer access to the marsh on an airboat or various other boats, and bird hides are situated on conservancy water holes. Enjoy breakfast or lunch on the bird deck overlooking the marsh, and unwind with sundowners on the deck as you take in the sunset.

From July through mid-December, you have a unique opportunity for birding or bird photography. The sheer number and variety of birds on the marsh is almost overwhelming, with flocks of species from pelicans to greater and lesser flamingos to African skimmers flourishing on the marsh. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any birder.

The area boasts diverse habitats, including Riparian Forest, Savanna Woodland, Grassland, and the Elephant Marsh Wetland, each offering unique birdwatching opportunities.
