There are approximately 90 species of kingfishers throughout the world. The Brown-hooded is one of five species of kingfishers found in our area and is possibly the one that is most commonly seen.
Despite its name, this particular species of kingfisher also feeds on insects such as butterflies, bees, wasps, locusts, and ants. Brown-hooded kingfishers have a specially adapted bill that helps them hunt for fish, crabs, shrimp, and other aquatic animals.
Each print is made using a fine art printer on premium cotton rag paper. The result is a print that is remarkably alike to the original painting. The paper and ink used are both archival which means the print won’t fade over time.
The print size is A4 (297 x 420mm).
