African Young Birder of the Week - 15 December 2023

We've decided to migrate our "African Young Birder of the Week" feature to your website! This allows us to showcase more content from each featured birder, further celebrating young birding talent across the continent. Please share this post to spread the word about these amazing birders!

As always, this feature is done in proud collaboration with Young Wildlife Photographers of Southern Africa.

The first Young Birder of the Week to be featured on our website is Jarred Wood. We asked him 6 questions to get to know him better.

Where are you from? Johannesburg, South Africa

How old are you? 14 years old

How long have you been birding? 2 years.

Do you keep a life list? Yes, my life list is on 393 species.

What's your favorite bird/s? Skimmers and Cuckoo's.

What makes birding so awesome? Listening to the bird calls while walking in the early morning sun.
