Honeywood Farm has been in the Moodie family since 1817 and borders the wild and wonderful Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve up against the Langeberg Mountains. It is a nature lover's paradise and offers hiking, mountain biking, birding, horse riding, and swimming in rivers and pools all in a peaceful and secure environment.
Next to Grootvadersbosch Nature reserve which has two bird hides - one in the forest - one above the forest. Member of Grootvadersbosch Conservancy - 21 adjoining farms cooperating on environmental issues voluntarily. Conservancy has 80kms of single track MTB routes for t hose who want to view birds on bikes!

INFORMATION FOR BIRDERS:
Birds are abundant and over 200 bird species have been recorded in the area, of which 8 are red data species. The Greater and Lessor Honey Guide are two species of birds which are frequently seen on Honeywoodfarm. There are several resident pairs of forest buzzards in the forest and adjacent area. A pair of crown eagles may be seen displaying and hunting above the canopy. The Knysna woodpecker, Olive woodpeckers and Knysna warblers can also be found in the forest.
